Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, right at the base of Mount Mitchell is the small town of Black Mountain, North Carolina - this is where Epic Cycles calls home. From here you can catch a road ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway, ride up and over the famous Highway 9, cross the continental divide and ride down into Lake Lure, North Carolina. Or perhaps for those wanting an off-road adventure, a short 2-hour ride down the Kitsuma trail which is just a few minutes east of our shop.
Mountain bikers love the area for the millions of acres of National Forest land that contains hundreds of miles of trails. Right out of the shop's back door is Mount Mitchell and the Old Toll Road. The Old Toll Road which has been
abandoned for about 100-years, is a 15 mile uphill climb to Mount Mitchell. Did we mention that is the highest peak east of the Rockies?
To wash off the trail dust many a mountain biker makes their way to the Pisgah Brewery to talk over the ride, drink some of the local brews and have a laugh.
Yeah, it is the life and one we want all of our friends to enjoy!
